hi i found this site about a month ago and think it's
great. i was supprised to find out that there are so
many ch sufferers out there. kinda makes me sad, but
at least i know somebody else knows what it's like.
i've read the messages and took some info to my doc, got some prednisone & verapamil. the prednisone seems to stop the attacks for a while{day or two} but they come back when i stop taking it. the verapamil seemed to make the ch last longer and come more often so i stopped. i was mid cycle and that might have something to do with it. my doc said no way would he give me a script for oxy as he'd never heard of using it like this before...next day he called and told me to pick up strong painkillers he called in for me! go figure!!
my wife & i own a small mom & pop groc. store and after
reading about oxy and cold air having similar effects
when i wake up with the feeling i jump up get dressed
run to store(we live right behind it}unlock relock and sit in the walkin cooler. this has been working great!!! even if ch has gotten a good hold on me after 10/15 minutes it goes away!!! i don't know what wal-mart is going to say when i ask them to sit in their cooler for a while....
i've had episodic ch for 18 years. i should own stock in tylenol/aspirin/motrin companies.
so far the cold air is the only thing i've ever seen that will stop a ch from developing. if you have the
opportunity?? to try it i hope it works for you.
have a good day...dave
