Penny,
I'm also chronic and when the CH were with me constantly, my wife made a desparation call to
the Neurosurgeon who first diagnosed me with clusterheadaches. Anyway, he told me to come to
his hospital as soon as possible. It was at the Univ. of Minn. He did a procedure on me called
radiofrequency trigeminal rhizotomy. He told me it wouldn't stop the CH but it would help. That was
about 15 years ago. I do believe it helped. I was getting kip 8-10 on a regular basis and now
a kip 10 is rare although still on occasion. Mostly they are 5-8 but duration has decreased and
and overall I can cope a lot better. I do take daily meds. and 02.
It is IMPERATIVE that you see a Neurosurgeon who has performed this Procedure in the past! Bad side
effects if not done correctly.
Hope this is something that may help your husband.
I'll say a special prayer for you guys and hang in there.
Wishing you both love - Larry
