Thank you for your answers to my message posted this morning. I got a hold of the Dr.'s office and asked about O2. They'd never heard of using that for headaches (small town & all) and wanted to give us percoset (sp?) instead. He wasn't comfortable prescribing without knowledge (understandably). I spent the rest of the morning printing out as many med articles as I could that listed dosages and effectiveness of O2 and took them over to the office. Told them that I thought percoset may not be the best choice and that I would wait for a decision on the O2. To end the story...we now are the proud renters of a portable O2 tank. Taco took it for a test run this evening (a small dose to get the hang of working the thing) and said that it really lifted the heaviness and pain out of his head that he'd been suffering with all day...so we're hopeful that it will be beneficial when disaster strikes.
I also grabbed some melatonin off the pharmacy shelf. We'll see what that does. Dr. also prescribed Lidocaine gel....but that has to be special-ordered from the pharmacy here.
