Hello Andrea, welcome to this board where you don't really want to be (am I right?).
You didn't say you had checked out the information under the top left button "medical info". Try it if you haven't. It is very, very valuable. You'll find preventive medication that prevents or lessens attacks for many clusterheads, and abortives that (hopefully) cut attacks when they occur.
With the search button top right you can search on the message board and in the archives for a special subject (like immigran, spray versus fast working shot).
Take all the information you get to your doctor next time you two go there and show it to her/him.
I myself use Verapamil (a blood pressure medication) to prevent attacks. It takes a while to start working. For breakthrough attacks I use oxygen (special valve for an outflow of 7-14 l.p.m. and non-rebreather mask).
For me that works fine. But don't forget that what works for some won't work for others. You'll have to find your way. Ask questions of the board if you want to know more.
Your husband is lucky to have such a supporter. Walk in beauty, annemarie
