You don't clearly identify what problems you have. My experience is yes the gouge in the eye. Many migraine sufferers talk about auras and seeing flashes of light. Their headaches also are sometimes days and feel better with lights off etc. Most CH sufferers I know including myself will have the affected eye tear and the pain is usually concentrated in that area rather than distributed on 1/2 the head. We don't experience flashes and just notice a pressure building prior to the extremene pain.
If my experience is correct, most CH people couldn't stand to have this type of pain for several days like many migraine people do. A few of these everyday and you start going a bit crazy.
