`ello All,
I`ve been wondering since I stumbled across this wonderful site, how many of you have had trouble keeping jobs ?
I`m a union cabinetmaker of 14yrs, which is one year less than how long I`ve been getting CH`s. I`ll spare you the
long version of the story, in a nut shell, there are only so many union shops in the area, my name spread around with
a bad reputation attached to it. Obviously for missing work or being late. At the same time I`m an excelent craftsman,
so I would be given a chance, but then I would make good on my rep. and be out te door. Keep in mind, this happend
before I was diagnosed (only 14months ago). I was just about to give it up and change directions when I heard about a new
shop (6 months old) that was "pickin up". I called, got hired in spite of my rep, and have been there for almost a year now.
I`ve been totally open about my condition (always was in spite of bosses calling me a liar )and was recieved very well. I
have missed some work but nothin` like I used to. My employer has asked me numerous questions and offers his sympathy, BUT...
I`m now a few weeks into a cycle and have missed a few of days in the past 2 weeks or so. I my be getting paranoid, but I swear
I`m starting to see those "looks" when i return to work the following day. I`ve offered medical records if he has any doubt,
and I dont know what else to do. It`s a good job with opportunity, as long as the beast doesnt have other plans for me.
LOL, that was the short version.
I`ld like to know how others have faired in the work place.

Best to all, PFD&N. Randy
