Funny how the same term, "regression analysis", keeps popping up in our common search. The mathematical connotation is striking in comparision to the psychiatric connotation.
Many look at psychoactive agents such as LSD and mushrooms as a short-cut to the classic Freudian regression analysis technique. As the banner carrier for the mind-body root cause theory, I got a chuckle from your post, as well as the one from several months back when it was suggested the same two words would apply to unravelling the child-brain/dope-fiend conflict.
