I am having numbness in my feet and hands!!!!!!!!

I had 4 attacks today, during one that I couldn't get to my oxygen for I experienced numbness in my feet and hands. The doctor seems to think it was from me hyper-ventillating. He wants me to stay on Prednisone 10mg for 7 more days, but now he wants me to take Verapamil 240 mg as well. I am worried about side effects. He wanted to give me Sancert, but I said no. This numbness thing has me really worried. Could this be a side effect from the Prednisone??? Help!!!!
