I decided a few weeks ago that I would keep a look out for Liberty Cap mushrooms as they are just coming into season here in the UK. Over the last few months the Verapamil I am taking is starting to lose its effect and I am starting to get hit on almost a daily basis again. So, I thought that instead of upping my dose of Verapamil (which I have managed to keep at only 240mg for the past year or so) I thought that a might give the 'shrooms' a try.
Today, I stumbled upon several fields FULL of Liberty Caps and I reckon that given an hour I could collect hundreds of them. Therefore, the option of trying this treatment is now a real one!
I have two concerns/questions:
1) I know that episodic sufferers have had great success with this treatment. In fact, I have never read a post on this site that says that the 'shroom treatment' doesn’t work (though I may have missed some!). However, does anyone know or heard of a chronic sufferer who has tried the treatment and if so, did it work?
2) After doing loads of research about Liberty Caps and hours of looking through identification guides I feel 99.9999999% sure that I can identify them. I have read that Liberty Caps in no way resemble any fatally toxic mushrooms. So, even if I pick the wrong mushroom nothing REALLY nasty will happen to me. Are there any experts out there who can confirm this?
Any feedback-however small would be welcome.
Best Wishes
