Yeah, if cafergot is all I have I can go through a bottle in around 2 days. During a particularly vicious cycle I've actually chewed those things and swallowed them. The Migril is better, double the ergot, half the caffeine, plus the anti-nausea stuff. I tend not to eat as many of those and I don't get rebound headaches as much either. It's made by Burroughs-Welcome but I don't know if it's available in the US. (Sorry for the assumption, you could be anywhere.)The side effects of ergot scare me to death, gangrene and other horrible things. Anyway, ergot has always aborted a CH for me, and always failed to keep it away for more than a couple of hours. I usually get 3-4 HAs of about 8 severity in a night.
I can only take so much of a cycle before I give in and take some anabolics, those will kill a cycle inside of 2 hours and generally keep it away for 3 weeks. Not a cure though, they ALWAYS come back. :-((
