I agree with your comments regarding 'malicious v. ignorant'. I'm curious about your stats, however. You referred to 50/100000 or 1/2000, which equal .05 percent. Most literature pegs CH at between .6 and 1 percent.
This may sound like nit-picking, but it sincerely isn't meant that way. On a US population of 250 million, .05 is 125,000. .6 is 1.5 million and 1 percent is 2.5 million. For the grant-givers and pharmaceutical companies, these numbers make a big difference.
Can you explain what you base your numbers on and perhaps comment on why medical literature often quotes the .6-1%? As OUCH gains momentum and addresses our condition more aggressively, I think "accurate estimates" (a self-admitted oxymoron) are important.
