Please find someone to talk to. There could be a link for sure. You could be suffering from Manic Depression that brings on these headaches. Are you being treated for the thyriod problem? that could be the cause as well.
My doctor wondered first if my depression was linked to my thyriod but everything with my thyroid is normal. Turns out I am Bipolar and suffer from headaches, always have suffered from the headaches. I tried to commit suicide 7 years ago. I understand were you are. But there is help, I was only diagnosed last week for Bipolar with possible Intermittent Explosive Disorder (they thought OCD at 1st) and will start Depakote (which was originally prescribed for Epilepsy & severe migraines, until 1995, they felt it helps Bipolar) tomorrow after my initial blood work for liver function and CBC. Blood work need to be done monthly to monitor those things. There is hope in leading a normal life, I hope tomorrow will be my new beginning, I have spent 3 years going down the wrong road to recovery, but you have to start somewhere. Please just ask alot of questions, do searches, we are out there suffering with you. But doctors are paid to do this, it seems some are relying on the internet to inform us. I have learned alot from the internet, but my doctor still mentions it first, then I dig in on the computer.
You will get through this, but it is hard work, I have wanted to give up plenty of times. And most people do not understand. It sounds like your mother is supportive, hold on to that. My mother is living in her own hell. I have great support from my husband & mother-in-law. They keep my going.
