True story:
I went to the store to buy a pair of bell bottom jeans. (Old hippie showin thru here) They don't sell them for men. I went to the "ladies dept. and asked " Do you have bell bottom jeans". The clerk said "no".
A lady whispered in my ear "flares".
"Huh?" says I.
"flares...ask for flares" she clarifys.
So I did and the clerk pointed me to the rack.
I met another clerk at the pile and said "I'm trying to find a pair of "flares" for someone who is exactly my size"
"What size is she?" she retorts.
"31 waist, 30 inseam" says I
"What SIZE is she?" she asks.
We went on like that for a while and finally I had to just grab a handfull of jeans and head for the dressing room

I am a Jordache size 11/12 short! ...and once again one of the first men in town to wear bell botoms. I had to go to the surplus store and buy "navy "pants to first get them in the 60's.
Life is hard on us fashion moguls.
