Thanks to everybody who responded to my question about Prozac and for the tips. I have learned to manipulate the O2 tank! I have also learned to respect my husband's space during an attack and not to trust his judgement at that time. I told my husband about finding this site and that I'd swear many of the letters were written by him since the experiences are so similar. I did find an interesting article at www.uclh.org/research/headache.htm that discusses some findings of a study about CH. This states a link between the hypothalamic region of the brain to CH and a need to "consider a radical reappraisal of the pathophysiology of CH." Maybe if they can figure out what part of the brain is involved, they can work on better treatments. If anybody knows anything about this study, I'd appreciate hearing about it. The article was posted September 1998: surely by now someone has started researching the findings. Also, to whoever posted that there is no increased incidence of tumors in Cluster patients: Where is your information from? Our neurologist is the first doctor we ever found who seems to be up on clusters. I wonder why he would tell us this? I'd be very relieved to know for sure that this is not true. Thanks for listening, understanding, and responding! It's comforting to know others in the same situation as our family, even if it doesn't change the pain.
