My husband took prednisone twice. Both times
he took medidril packs with the second time
taking two at once. He was given prednisone for
an upper respiratory infection. He now has AVN
in both hips and one shoulder. The shoulder did
not follow until almost 3 years after taking the
prednisone. The hips were diagnosed within 8
months. There is an AVN support group on the
WEB if you want to converse with others who have
AVN. This disease has impacted our entire family. My
husband is 46 with two kids still in school. My
husband is currently on his 3rd hip surgery
(started with partials) and awaiting the 4th hip
and the first shoulder surgery.
