I was also using very high doses of verapamil with no results, until we added an equally high dose of inderal. sorry I don't recall the exact mg. this needs to be done slowly tho, or you will end up dropping your heat rate too much. I have been chronic for about 2 years now, and the best week in all that time was when I was combining the two meds, at their highest doses (it was a bitch even getting a pharmacist to fill them both). Unfortunately, they appeared to aggravate an existing heart condition, and now the docs will not let me take them any more.so far, these are the only meds that have helped at all, and only together. as soon as i started dropping the dose on either med, the headaches came right back. hope this helps
