lindy,i feel for you as i have had been fighting the same battle for about 2 months.i have had two epindurals done to treat a degenerative disk disease.this could be the origin of my pain.i still await the results of a spinal tap done about 5 days ago.they did a blood patch on the location of the epidural sight,to exclude the chance it was a slow leak of spinal fliud as this can cause a so called spinal headache.i have had some improvement but not a 100% recovery.tomorrow i return to work and must confess i am affraid the dreaded pain will return .my husband has been a great comforter and very understanding, although he does'nt understand what is wrong.combination of stress along with a misalignment in your spine can cause misery.it is very likely that this along with another cause can make it very difficult for a doctor to pin piont the cause.so i say this to you, your pain is real.it may take a combination of treatments or even a second or third opinion.try everthing untill you feel good, and are pain free.this is your health and above all, your well being.your family should support you.because if they don't get involved and demand that your doctor find the cause or refer you to someone who can,he may not take it serious.have a family member go with you,if you have no one in your family willing to go and back you ask a friend,or some one from your church.if you dont go to church, pray.it truly broke my heart when i read that your family was not understanding of your problem.my heart goes out to you.GOOD LUCK.
