I tried to send donation via the "about the site" link which DJ set up early on. It is available to help DJ fund the site. I think we should use it, but unfortunately I got a security warning - maybe it's been dead for a while.
As to having adverts, I'm not a fan. It's visually distracting, and gives a mesage to newcomers in particular that the site can't run on its own merits.
Please folks, think about it, and give DJ a bit of help.
