How many times I have stood helplessly by, watching that scene, terrified by the velocity and viciousness of the pain and totally powerless to make it stop. Watching the Beast take total control and having to learn the hardest lesson of all...not to fight, not to interfere, to be patient until the attack is over. Like watching a defenseless animal be almost beaten to death while feeling like my arms won't ever be long enough to reach out to help.
