I've been working out with weights for 20 years. I've also had clusters for the last 10. I avoid any strenuous activity during my cluster season since I've noticed a propensity to develop an attack when I sweat (through exercise or just being in a hot environment).
Ironically, I've heard from a few sufferers that vigorous exercise during an attack will abort it. THe closest I've come to testing that remedy is by hyperventilating. I used this successfully during my last two attacks but my body feels like crap from overdoing the last one.
Have you tried oxygen? My doctor will get me a take-home tank if my clusters don't respond to my new prescription.
