I had a good time. With each attendee that says they did too, I have an even better time.
With the diminished attendance and the doctors not coming to speak, I was afraid everyone would be disappointed. If they had been, I would have felt that I failed all of you (cause that's the way I am). I'm truely glad to hear you enjoyed it.
I spent Thursday making the final arrangements with catering for the Saturday meeting. Then shot the bull with the Kipples, Riccardo and Barb D., followed by dinner with the same bunch.
Friday I opened the hospitality suite around 10am and spent the rest of the day right there. It amazed me to see that each new face that walked into this semi-crowded room was instantly at ease. It was as if we all knew each other already. Each and every one had their story to tell and everyone gladly listened. The suite had a jacuzzi tub and I still haven't figured out what prompted everyone to pile into it. Must be that hot shower/cluster thing. Around 9PM the group broke up to persue some fun for the evening. We went downtown with Barb D, DJ, Jonathan and Arnold. The light show at Freemont Street is very impressive. Had a late nite buffet dinner at no cost thanks to some comps that Barb D earned last time she tried to break the house.
Saturday was meeting day. I tried my best to focus on Oganization business. Somehow the conversation always came back to CH war stories. I'm not dumb enough to try to stop a clusterhead from talking about CH so I'm afraid we didn't get much work done. I did come away with some good notes and ideas. I'll be working with Jonathan in the UK to develope these and present them to the rest of you for consideration. Satuday night turned into group dinner night at the Italian joint in the hotel. It looked like everyone enjoyed themselves. After dinner, back to the suite for some small talk. We talked about drummer, Jack and hub because we figured they were pretty small.
Sunday morning I paid the bills (remind me to ask DJ what that charge to the suite for Fifi's Five Fingered High Colonics was about).
What a great bunch of people. And best of all, I'm only aware of one real dance all weekend. I guess the bastard is afraid of us when we get together in number.
Thanks to all of you for comming, for supporting the event if you couldn't come and for just being a bunch of really cool clusterheads.
Whoever does this next year, let me know. I'll be glad to share some knowledge and lend a SMALL hand.
