I went to the Dr. today because my insurance company had declined paying for my imitrex again until August 23. Well, my doctor gave me 11 free samples and called my insurance and got an authorization for as many imitrex as I need for the next six months. He also gave me a script and samples for another drug that I don't believe that I have heard any of you talk about. I have just taken one so I will see how it works. The name is Maxalt, it comes in pill form and the kind that dissolves on your tongue. I told him about this message board and all of the fantastic information that I recieve from it. I had printed out the medical information portion and told him about it ( I think I kind of offended him) he told me that he had read very comprehensive articles on CH. I told him that I am just trying to help who ever is helping me as much as possible. I hope that I did not offend him. I am glad to have a doctor that is very concerned with my pain and is trying to help me. Yesterday when my insurance company declined my imitrex I had to buy one myself and it was $16.89 (for one pill). He is thinking that I should prob come to an end with this cycle in the next 6-8 weeks. I hope so I have already had it for about 8 weeks, diagnoised for 3 weeks. Fortunately everyone in my life knows that I am not a "complainer" and is very compassionate of me with my headaches (although they still don't know how often I have them and how bad they hurt), I try not to say anything to anyone unless they can see it in my face, ie: droopy watery eye, and I get a little less hyper (normally a very firey, spunky, talkative person). I will keep an eye on how the Maxalt works. Oh he also gave me a script on a drug that is from the Erg(i don't remember the rest)family, I have seen several of you post on it before. I hope that everyone has a great day, and sorry for all of the rambling in this post.
