Although I don't know about mixing Midrin and
Imitrex, I've heard two different stories on the Imitrex.
My doctor told me only once in a 24 hour period.
My sister's doctor told her the dosage can be repeated in 1 hour if not working, but then that's all for 24 hours. She doesn't have CH, so doesn't need meds as often, so problably can have more when she does have take something.
Some neuro's say only 9 tablets in a 30 day period.
I've switched to Zomig as the tablets work faster than Imitrex tablets and almost got myself in trouble by taking it too often in reduced amounts.
Both Imitrex & Zomig are vasoconstrictors, and need to be used with respect. I've never been able to get any good answers on Midrin..only that it has a lot of Tylenol-III in it. One pharmacist told me it has several ingredients and they don't actually know why it works for migraines.
I've seen it referred to as a vasoconstrictor, but I don't know for sure that is correct.
