Harley, The first thing you can ask them is if they KNOW what a Cluster Headache is? (You'd be surprised!) If they tell you they've treated a lot of migraines - RUN- don't walk. If they start giving you a lot of hipe about "trigger" foods and stress and all that bunk, find someone else.
The first two questions my neuro (who suffers from Clusters) asked was: Have you ever thought of suicide? and What do you do during an attack? He later said that if the answer to the first was "no" or the second was "lay down in a dark room" he KNEW it wasn't clusters.
There are no set questions, but after a while you can pretty well tell if the neuro knows what he's doing. keep looking till you find Dr. Right. Good luck. BD
