Well, I think you need not worry about ridicule - I've always been told not to argue with those whose opinion you don't respect, and add to it not to worry about their reaction. If it works for you, report it. I report my acupuncture success every once in a while, and get zero response. My neck double pops in one direction (face going left) all the time. Next bout I'll try your neck thing.
I would be cautious in producing a long string of speculation about connections between histamines, sneezing, etc without recognizing it for rampant speculation, which is fine. We all tend to bash doctors for not knowing whats up, but in reality the body is incredibly complicated, and long strings of speculation could be made about anything, and get any result, and will not get anywhere. Western medicine uses the scientific method, in which you test ideas, and if its limits are respected it works. This includes saying "i don't know", as well as insisting on a test.
The flu epidemic in 1921 (if I have the right one) was derived from a WWI conditions, and killed between 12 and 20 MILLION people. Flu is a virus. When the next one comes along, I want a lot of doctors to know how it happened. Wouldn't we all be thrilled if HIV mutated to airborn and was caried by a sneeze? Big epidomics are worth studying.
