It's really pretty easy to get their attention. Last year I dropped a quick e-mail to my local TV station and asked if they would be interested in doing a Health and Medicine segment on the most excruciating headaches know to man. They jumped on it in a flash. Drummer had 3 news crews at his house. Hub did a bit on the Shelbyville News (all 3 viewers enjoyed it). DJ and others all did the same.
It's really a painless process. They come out, set up a camera and the newsperson starts asking you questions. You forget the camea is even there (you know how clusterheads are, once you get 'em started). Before you know it, they're gone.
The payoff? Within an hour after my news appearence I had received 2 phone calls. The following day a guy from my area showed up at CH.com saying he saw it on TV.
It works. Ya just gotta be gutsy enough to make the call or send the e-mail.
We'll all, politely, keep working on Mary so she follows through with the program on CH.
