Hi Shannon,
How true that is - how can anyone who can relieve a "headache" with Tylenol truly understand the unbelievable pain experienced with the beast called clusters? I know that i would love nothing more than to be in the "tylenol group"!!
So glad that you have a boss who, if nothing else, is trying to understand!! my boss has been nothing but great in giving me the space i feel i need when this cycle hits - dont know that everyone is that lucky though! Shame really because when you are in the middle of a cycle, the last thing we should have to worry about is conflict at work - go figure! what a bunch of strong people we have to be!!
My clusters, thank god, have never switched sides - always right sided - always intense as hell!! The water hasn't really helped me either - I have found that if i take an imitrex tablet prior to going to bed it seems to help! if the demon decides to still break through and i catch them in time, the oxygen has been fairly successful in aborting them!! Have u tried 100% Oxygen yet?? I was hesitant on getting the scrip. filled the first time, but am so thankful i did this time - and quite honestly, what a fine non med. method of relieving the pain!!
Best of luck to you shannon - hope the demon soon exits your head and your able to regain your life again - i know i cant wait for that day again!!!
Pain free days and nights to you!
God Bless!
PS - just a final note: Last night when i had my CH - i tried putting my head in the freezer while pressing an ice pack on my temple - seemed to help quite a bit - i know it sounds weird but hey, ANYTHING to relieve the pain! Who gives a damn about the electric bill!!!!!
