I took Depakote combined with Amerge last cycle. The Amerge was taken twice a day and prevented CH's for a 6 hr period. You can only take it twice a day. The Depakote seamed to decrease the severity of the period and it seamed to end about a month early. Who knows what will happen next time. I'm scheduled to start another cycle around Thanksgiving and my Dr wants me to start the Depakote around the first of November to see if we can eliminate the next cycle. I'll try but don't have a lot of hope. Nothing has prevented them from starting for the last 26 years. Maby Depakote will work. I'm also stockpiling Imitrex.
