BobP, see my post below. There I introduced the idea that my CH attacks may be of two different causes, but using similar physical mechanisms.
One type, the sleep related type, uses the REM stage window of opportunity and is often associated with sleep disorders. Let's call this the "child-brain distraction attack".
The other type, the daytime attacks, uses the vasomotor functions to trigger the pain mechanism to get the dope. Let's call this type the "dope-fiend attack".
Both attacks use vasomotor constriction and dialation to set up the pain process. Both processes are controlled by mental (albiet subsconscious) functions, but for entirely different objectives. Both types of attacks can be present in the same person at the same time, or can be independent in the same person over time.
