I've been suffering for about 13 years and just recently correctly diagnosed. I've tried everything over the years from chewing on Ice (which helps) to massage and nothing will abort the attack just lessen the severity. The problem I've found with having someone try and massage out the pain is that you have to put enough pressure and move around constantly as the pain tends to float all over the left side of my face if i massage it. Now I agree that anything is better than overmedicating but man I was just given imitrex and I can't beleieve that there is actually something that works almost instantly.I just don't have it in me to fight the pain for two hours anymore.
