I can't prove it but I would suspect that there are, indeed , "serious researchers" who are predisposed and "biased" to think of clusters and all headahces of having a psychological root cause and not a physiological root cause.
I saw my Mom awhile ago - not a serious researcher but someone who knows me and my 30 years of clustering pretty well - I got to talking about OUCH and brain chemistry - she said this - " I always thought they were stress related ".
If I didn't have these things I wouldn't believe them and I suspect I would think of clusterheads as a bunch of nuerotic wackos.
Never underestimate the potential for smart and otherwise well meaning people to think of headaches as psychological.
Lots of historical examples of science and conventional wisdom to be dead wrong:
ulcers - stress
schizophrenia - bad mothering
impotence - pscychology
etc.
