When I first started having CH, my husband was working in S. America, so I spent a lot of time visiting him (mostly in Aruba). The surf and sand seemed to help my HAs. It may have something to do with the salt water, but I always felt better laying on the beach or swimming in salt water. Sunlight has never bothered me any more when I have a CH than when I don't. So now you have 2 schools of thought - do what works for your son.
