Disability benefits, as well as SS retirement benefits are based on a persons earnings.
There is a 2 year wait before you can get medicare on disability.
Medicaid is determined by household income, as is SSI, food stamps, etc. Every state has different guidelines.
There are people who still work for cash, don't report the earnings or pay taxes.
That's the bunch you need to be gunning for, not for persons who have a ligitimate need, and have earned the benefits they apply to receive.
For the record, I worked from 1952 to 1999, I was off 5 years when my sons were born. I've mostly been in offices, but have done food service as a second job at times. I worked 8 hours a day and went to school nites until I was able to advance to an Office Manager position with Accounting and Secretarial Responsibilities.
I reached a point in 1999 where I COULD NOT DO MY JOB!!!
Since I've probably worked since you were a small child, or even before you were born, I'm tired of you judging people so critically.
Another point to consider...the Support side...
Even if my benefits are denied, and there's every chance they will be, I would still apply to get the Disease of Cluster Headaches out there to call awareness to it for others who may benefit in the future.
We've talked alot about action to get research going for a cure...let me tell you...when it feds notice the pinch in their pocketbooks from CH sufferers, it WILL become a priority.
Let's get back to the basic purpose here and quit
tearing down others who are doing what they have to do in their personal situation. MG
