Todd, take them an OUCH brochure. That is what I plan to do. It may not help you with that particular doctor, they have a lot of ego to deal with, but he will probably read it and maybe decide to do some research himself on it, and maybe the next person who comes to see him with this he will treat properly.
Of course this doesn't help you directly and what you have to do is find yet another doctor. Take a brochure with you to each one, if they don't believe you, or won't listen, give them the brochure and move on.
At least you will be planting the seeds of knowledge as you go. But do keep looking, there are doctors out there that do know about this, and can help.
