There's some pretty decent evidence that 8 ounces of some kinds of yogurt can kill candida bacteria. See http://lef.org/protocols/abstracts/abstr-028.html which has a bunch of Medline excerpts. In one of the studies women went from having 2.5 infections over a six-month period to having one infection per three women during six months on the yogurt. In fact some of the women refused to stop eating the yogurt up so they had to throw them out of the study!
One catch is that only yogurts containing lactobacillus acidophilus will kill candida, and most yogurts don't. See http://outreach.missouri.edu/hesnutrnews/fnr93-4.htm . The only brand it lists as having the L. Acidophilus is "Dannon, low-fat and plain, fruit on the bottom, and classic flavors". There may be new brands; check the labels or call the 800 numbers on the containers.
