When I'm in a cycle I average three to four a day/night. 8:30 am, 10:00 am, and 3:00 pm are normal times during the day, and wake up calls usually come right after I have entered deep sleep. I can't stress enough that the two tylenol pm taken every night during a cycle helped delay the attacks until morning. The theory behind this is that sleep aids prevent you from entering REM stage of sleep when clusters usually strike. It's the sleep aid that is working here not the mild pain medicine. Long term use of sleep aids can actully cause sleep deprivation even though you are sleeping through the night. Thats why as soon as my cycle is over I get off the PM.
I know nothing works for everyone but it's been a successful combo for me.
Yes I believe I'm taking the sustained release form. My scrip is 240 mg SR.
There are some Pharmaceutical web sites out there that can give you a lot of info on the drug. I printed out a copy of mine but I don't have it with me today. If you can't find info let me know and I can find the site for you.
Another thought-We should talk to DJ about setting up a way to link to information about meds that we all use. Would answer a lot of questions people have about Prednisone, Verapamil, Lithium and so on.
Hope you got some rest last night.
