I want to thank this site for all the great information it has provided.
Friday, I was diagnosed and logged onto this site, for the first time, and had a wealth of questions answered.
While I may not be "normal", I am NOT alone.
Printouts were made, and I made sure to go over all the information with my wife.
The weekend was quiet (just a bunch of whimpy shadows) but last night (Sunday), 2 1/2 hours after falling asleep, I woke up with a pain around 3.5 on the Kip scale.
I woke my wife up, and told her I was going to have an ATTACK.
We're not panicking anymore, and treating it more like a bad storm at sea... battening down the hatches and getting ready for a wild ride.
My wife quickly got the ice, and everything else I needed.
She was quiet, didn't ask questions, and just waited to follow any "command" I might spew out in the midst of my pain.
As the hour progressed, I went from wild thrashing (like Stevie Wonder playing the piano) to rapid breathing through clenched teeth, vicing my head, etc.
It was really great to know I should be in the clear after an hour/90 minutes, and that the "nausea" (I've never thrown up though) I feel is actually a signal that IT'S almost over.
I still don't have any medicine, so I had to ride out the pain, but just knowing what was happening was a big help, to the both of us.
Thanks again,
