Please could anyone who has found that Indocin/Indomethacin has helped their symptoms get in touch? My partner has been diagnosed with chronic cluster headache, but now, because of the frequency of attacks he has been getting on a daily basis, there is a suggestion that this may in fact be chronic paroxysmal hemicrania rather than CH. If anyone has any knowledge or experience of this, please could you advise on the following questions?
1. How many attacks a day were you getting? (My friend has so far had up to 10 attacks in one day.)
2. Did you ever try steroid therapy and did it work as a preventative? (High doses of prednisone have definitely helped him - the attacks start again as he tapers the dose.)
3. Did you ever try a triptan drug (e.g. Imitrex, Imigram) to abort individual attacks, and if so, did it work? (Imigran injections definitely help my friend.)
4. Did you ever try lithium as a preventative and did it help? (My friend has tried it and it seemed to help for a few weeks (maybe).)
Do you have any other information that may help with the diagnosis? (I have seen that Indocin is a very reliable and specific treatment for CPH and so can itself be used to confirm the diagnosis.)
