Rick,
I have had clusters for 13 years now. In the beginning, I was episodic, and every time I went out of cycle and a new cycle started - they were ten times worse! Then, after my fall bout in '96, I went 'out of cycle'(?) from having 2 to 4 attacks a day, to having maybe one or two a week. This continued without fail until the next cycle hit; then I was back to the same old daily routine. After that cycle ended (I'm losing myself here), I went back to having one or two a week. That continued until February of '98. At that point I started getting them once or twice a day, then three, then four - until I was finally back in cycle. 28 months later and...I AM STILL IN CYCLE!!! I went from being episodic to being chronic.

I don't want to scare you or anything - but if you continue to have them once or twice a week continually, it might be a sign that you are going chronic; though in all honesty I can't tell you what makes a person chronic or episodic. I wish I knew. Hope you don't go chronic, but if you do - please let me know. I wonder if the 'weekly' thing might be a precursor to going chronic.

Peace,
Carl D
