...on the doctor/patient chat last night. I was the first one in and thus got to participate. I think Ricci's right, but the threshold was set at about 10 people. This so-called discussion was a debacle: It was like trying to talk to your doctor through five receptionists who are telling you how wonderful and smart he is. The moderator? was mag_pie and the name fit. She responded to everything everyone said with some homily like "That's a good question." In the doc's defense, I think he tried to seriously answer some questions, but it was obvious that he had no concept of the devastating effects of a cluster. It seemed as if he was thumbing through a medical book and then typing what he found there. The show-stopper was Todd's real-time description of Elaine's attack as it rapidly went from shadows to rocking and moaning. It was agony for me just to hear about it. IMHO, this charade was orchestrated to enhance the career of Dr. Cady. Even so, we might have learned something had it not been for the line of cheerleaders at the head of the class. The only positive note for me is that at least the doctor was confronted by a bunch of clusterheads. Who knows, perhaps he learned something.
