I selected a few short posts from the board that discussed the essence of the CH experience, printed them and gave them to the one member of my family of inlaws that I could relate to and that I knew would be able to convey it to the others. I asked her to pass the pages around to the others.
I still had a miserable time at the inlaws, but over the next couple of visits they have acted as if it were more or less normal for me to be insane.
Which, I suppose, it is, maybe.
My own family understands better now because some of them have actually visited this board and got the general drift of the problems we have.
That's the best thing, I think...Have one or two of them visit us and get the drift. If they have a computer around at the family reunion, you might ask to use it to check the Message Board and let one or two of them look over your shoulder.
Maybe your husband can help you out with this. If not, then we'll just have to put a hex on him, maybe.
But, if nothing works and nobody understands then just forgive their ignorance and go on with what you have to do to deal with it from your own perspective. If you get a "bad" reputation because of your suffering, it is not you that's to blame.
After all -- only you are an expert on you.
