As a classic migrainure, I have stayed away from Imitrex like the plauge. So I dont know anything about it first hand. But, I've done alot of research on it, and one of the things I KNOW is that even though it was design for use in migraine it's shouldnt be used by people with aura type migraine. As for Cluster...I'm not sure, but anything that helps and doesnt hurt cant be bad, so if your own research indicates trying it go right ahead...that articel on extending it looks sound, but would be classified as abuse by anyone in power, but then again that is simply the nature of the word abuse: any use that deviates from the normal use. And in this case cuts down on profits from GlaxoWelcomme. If they thoght they could make a profit then yes they would make a lower dose injector, of course you would pay more for the drug because you would be getting less drug for thier same hardware costs...Big companies love cases like this: they have X product for y illness. it also works for z similar illness but not as effectively or as effeciantly. So they have to do some more R&D (millions of dollars) to determine the correct dose per injector and other such nonsense, then they have to spend millions more remarketing it to Herr Doktors
add all this up to the actual cost per unit of the drug and figure in at LEAST 50% markup. If the market will bear, the companies WILL do. Be sure of it. It's just a question of economics which can take years to sort out...by which time the market might have changed.
All this is why big bussiness is just a stupid idea anyways. If you want to talk about that! email me.
