I asked Drummer once if he had ever tried performing during an attack and he said that it had not happened so far. But, he did say there were a couple of times when he sorta hurried up the number a bit.
I play trumpet, and several years ago I was to play at a wedding. But I was just a few weeks into my cycle and getting five or six mind-benders daily, and one was building as time for my solo appraoched.
I figured I could wait it out, get in the performance and get out of there before it got too bad, but by the time the pianist was starting my intro I knew I was a dead man.
I just waved at the gride and broom and took off. I can't remember what I did by of opolgy, but I never heard from them again.
(They split up in four months. Her mother blamed me, saying I was the only thing that went wrong with the entire event.)
I know another musician/comedian Clusterhead who actually tried to do his act with a number 8 attack. It was agony for him, and he finally had to abort the performance and hit the shower. He said he gave it everything he had but just could not stand it.
I have a collection of similar stories -- I might begin posting them from time to time if anyone is interested. Some of them are absolutely incredible.
