I am wondering if your wife has felt any other intense pain, such as cild birth. It may be possible to relate to her on that level. However, in my experience, most people don't have any concept of the debilitating nature of this pain as it is not a once off experience in a clinical setting ..as child birth is. Also the woman is surrounded by usually sympathetic trained professionals, including the husband.
Delivery pain has a clearly defined reason, 1/2 the population can relate to it at some stage of their life, it has a beginning and an end, futhermore, it is considered "natural". For all of the above reasons...CH is different as I am sure the female sufferers will attest.
