Hi Buddy,
I pay $18.00 Australian for 2 sprays.
However, after reading med info I convinced my
neurologist to give me a prescription for methoxyflurane.
(aka Penthrane in Australia) Most of the Australian ambulance services use it in the form of a ?quot;Penthrox Inhaler?quot; which is a
plastic tube with a wick. You simply pour the 3 ml vial into the tube, shake and inhale. I get relief within 5-10 minutes. If I use oxygen
in conjunction, I can sometimes abort a cluster within 45 seconds. The greatest thing is the lack of side effects in comparison with Sumatriptan (except you can't drive for an hour or so).
Buying a 125ml container works out cheaper than Sumatriptan. It also allows me to rotate my drugs so that I can treat 3 or 4 attacks a day successfully.
I am also using Dihydroergotamine injections (sc)( 5 for $18.00) and they provide relief within about 15 minutes.
Hope all goes well for you.
Ian
