I'm writing this before I read any other follow-ups, so as not to be swayed by public opinion. For me, a trip to Vegas sounded like a great thing and I was all for it. But since the original idea emerged, I have switched jobs, been without insurance (which gets expensive, given that my wife also has a chronic condition), and basically depleted my piggy bank. I also have two teen-age kids...'nuff said. A meeting closer to home (I'm in Nebraska) would definitely be more possible for me. We're campers, so we could keep the costs much lower.
Those are my thoughts on the matter.
