The book - HOPE was written by George and Lennie. Mainly Lennie, because George says he wasn't smart enough to write it this time around (whatever that means).
I found the book in the trash can in the men's room at the local Museum of Arts.
Imagine that!
I've read the book 37 times. It's funny. It's inspirational. It's ridiculous. It's pointless. It doesn't matter. It is full of hopelessness.
Imagine that!
In the last chapter of the book entitled (Complete and Utter Jibberish) Lennie writes this:
"If you haven't figured it out by now - George and I are just two regular guys. We haven't a clue about anything. We never asked to be born in the first place. We made everything in this book up. We are just two lost 'souls' (sorry, there really ain't no soul) who are very, very worried about human beings and the Planet and we wanted to make people have a reason to live. We have decided it's impossible. There is no hope. We're going to throw the book away now. We're going to throw the book away in this trash can in the men's room at the local Museum of the Arts. If anyone finds this book - we strongly urge you to throw it away, too. Love, Lennie and George."
