Tim, thanks for echoing my feelings that what works for one person, or at one point in time, may not work for another person, or at another time. I went through this with seizure drugs, went through every drug on the market, and damn near ended up having surgery, before we found the combination I'm on now. What's hell, is knowing that, whether it's my seizure drugs, or for my migraines and what I just discovered were clusters, I could wake up tomorrow and find it all has ceased to be effective. Also, I'm just beginning to chart my headaches. From what I've been reading here, it seems like everyone posting has a different cycle, with periods of varying severity. So it stands to reason that each person's treatment will be slightly different. I, like you, believe that, due to what research has been done, at least we have the treatments we DO have. And another drug could come along tomorrow, which would bring relief to some people. I know that all too well...in the fall of '96 I was facing surgery for epilepsy, because I had gone through every drug available to me, and within a couple of weeks, the med I am on now had come out onto the market. I am taking this drug in a non-standard dosage, and I am allergic to the drug it's usually paired with. Unique treatment for a unique situation... Also, like you, trying to keep a positive attitude. Though in the worst part of the attacks, I have a hard time saying this, at least I'm alive, and going through these dark periods makes me appreciate the pain-free periods all the more. Keep it up!
