Check out the links on the left for information about medications. A lot of us take Verapamil, Topamax, Sansert, lithium, etc., and various combinations of medications.
Abortives preferred seem to be breathing pure oxygen and a shot of Imitrex. But read everything you can find on this site and print out some of the material to show your doctor that you are in the know. He/she probably will be if that doctor is a specialist. Be prepared to ask for relief immediately, even if you have to go through some tests before getting your regular prescriptions. Good luck.
