During an episode, the mereest hint of alchohol and I would get a headache within 15-30mins. Usually the alchohol induce ones lasted well over the normal 30-60mins, and would drag on for 2 hours.
These days I used alchohol to trigger headaches to test the shroom theory. This only works when my episode comes, the rest of the time I drink like a fish.
There is a but though... back in Dec 97/Jan98 when I was last caught without shrooms, the episode had come right bang on Christmas and New Year. About the week before Christmas the shadows started. By 23&24th Dec they had gotten quite heavy, but I noticed that drinking, although it brought on a shadow the beast was never actually unleashed (at that point). I also noticed that the drunker I got the alchohol was doing that 'analgesic overdose thing' of hmmm painless pins and needles in my temple. Is anyone familiar with this. I decided (against my better judgement) to persevere with the booze. On the 27th of December I got one of the worst MF CHs of my life. I now know it was a #9. This came on 15mins after my first sip. I tried desperately to drink my way through it, forcing glasses of whiskey passed my clenched teeth (I can hear you wincing).
Well there was no happy ending...
Since then I have learned two things about CH and my body.
1) Never drink during an episode, it just makes it angry.
2) Never ever take analgesic drugs to combat CH, the only #10 I ever has was a multiple rebound induced by Apsirin Codiene, Paracetomal Codiene and Iboprufen Codiene. Oh my fuckin GOD, I honestly thought my coupon was punched!
